An investigation of the effects of the Law numbered 6222 on the prevention of violence and irregularity in sports in Bursa

Competition in sports also leads to polarization and tension between sportsmen, managers and supporters. The polarities and tensions that have taken place have increased the tendency towards violence and aggression. Violence includes an excessive mood, anger, brute force, aggressive behavior that damages both the individual and the community. In order to prevent these incidents, "The Law Numbered 6222 On The Preventıon Of Violence And Irregularity In Sports" was accepted in 31.03.2011 and in 14.04.2011 it was declared in the official newspaper and put into effect. Purpose of the research; irregularities and violence incidents that occurred in all sports organizations held between 2012-2016 in Bursa City, are within the different variables; to specify the general condition of violence by using the statistical data passed to the statutory records by the sports police department under Law Number 6222. Retrospective data scanning method was used in the research. The universe of this research is the incidents of violence and irregularity that are occured in the city of Bursa that recorded by the sports police department. The sample groups are irregularities and violent incidents that occurred in the sport events of the years 2012-2016 in the province of Bursa. The data used in the research were requested by petition from Bursa Police Department Sport Security Branch. The Excel program was used for the statistical analysis of the data collected in the framework of the general purpose and main problem of the research. It was noted in records that %99 (n = 602) of the events were performed by men and %1 (n = 6) by women. According to the professions, when we look at the offenders, workers are the most involved with %40; at %0.2, coaches are the least criminal. Students are second with %31.6 after the workers. While the most frequent type of incident is running riot in sports areas with a rate of %19.4, it is the least that letting somebody to use an electronic card which belongs another person with %0.5. It shows the importance of education in exhibiting violence and aggression behaviors, which is high value of %91.3 of elementary and secondary education graduates compared to %8.2 of higher education students. According to the results of the teams supported by the people, Bursaspor supporters are the most criminal side with %74.8.As results of the research, more than half of the total crime operatives by 359 people of 18-30 age group, which we define as the younger generation is the most criminal group. As the age increases, the number of crime offenders has been found to decrease greatly. The results of the research indicate a gradual decline in the amount of crime records in the coming seasons.
