Analyze of physical growth and development with anthropometric method of primary school students whose age between 7-12: Example of Kırşehir province

This research is prepared with the aim to analyze the process of physical growth and development in 7 to 12 year-old children in the light of anthropometric methods; who belong to two different socio- economic classes in the central of Kırşehir. For this purpose, 161 children are chosen randomly who are attending Hürriyet Primary School and Kırşehir College located in the center of Kırşehir, and 14 different anthropometric measurements are taken from each student. IBP?s (International Biological Programme) techniques were used for anthropometric measurements.The statistical analysis of the obtained data are made by using SPSS programme. The standard deviation values are calculated for average values of each age group and socioeconomic status. And what is more , t-test was applied to samples with the help of SPSS software in order to determine whether there is a statistically tremendous difference between the two schools or not.According to compiled data, growth and development ? antropometricly- put forth similiarties and differrences between two different socioeconomic classes.This research is compared with previous analyses conducted in various regionsin Turkey and it is observed that the research has average values.It is hard to say much anything about the secular growth because there is no avilable study that belong to City of Kırşehir.Key Words: Growth, Development, Anthropometry, Children, Kırşehir, Socioeconomic Level, Anthropology
