Abstract (EN)

It can be said that the physical activity, exercise program or the implementation of a branch-specific basic education program during the development process of children increase their physical competence levels. Especially with in basic gymnastics training, physical development can be followed by preparing training programs suitable for the purpose. Based on these statements, in the study, basic gymnastics training applied to children aged 7-9 was taught to include motor skills such as balance, flexibility and quickness, and motor skills such as locomotor (running, galloping, jumping on one leg, jumping with one leg, jumping with two legs and stepping sideways) skills. and object control (hitting a set ball with a stick, bouncing, catching a thrown ball, hitting a set ball, throwing a tennis ball from above and below) on the skills, and if so, to determine at what level. 17 female students affiliated to Galatasaray Taç Sports Club, located in Ataşehir district of Istanbul province, participated in the research. In the study, children were applied height measurement, body weight measurement, sit-reach, flamingo, dynamic balance, quickness, total motor development II (TGMD II) tests. The training program, which was implemented for 8 weeks, was planned to last for one hour, two days a week, and basic training exercises specific to the gymnastics branch were applied. For the normality distribution of the data obtained in the study, Spahiro-Wilk test and skewness kurtosis tests were used, and the Willcoxon test was used for statistical analysis. According to the findings obtained in the study, no statistically significant difference was found between the pre- and post-test values of locomotor skills, while a statistically significant difference was found between all other parameters.
