Abstract (EN)

Aluminum alloy provide great advantage on reducing energy requirements and gas emissions due to weight reduction in aviation and automotive industry. Among aluminum alloy types, especially the alloy A356 (Al-7Si-0.3Mg) is commonly used for obtaining these benefits. Its mechanical sufficiency, lightness, thermal conductivity and corrosion resistance makes it desirable compared to steel materials. Due to their area of use, the aluminum alloys must provide sufficient mechanical and physical properties. For this reason, resistance mechanisms on aluminum alloys are very important and there are many applications of them in industry. Degassing is one of the most common methods because of its use in the removal of the negative effects of remaining hydrogen gas bubbles in liquid metal during solidification, that are discontinuity and degradation of resistance. There are many applications for removing gas porosity in aluminum alloys. Ultrasound method is one of these applications which is analyzed in this thesis. The experimental results of the 0170.STZ.2013-1 san-tez project about this method are also provided. The mechanical test results of the experiments show that the degassing with ultrasonic equipment has better results than traditional methods about %5.
