Abstract (EN)

In parallel to changes in financial markets, the investors' demand for diversified portfolios that are formed by combining various financial assets increased notably. In this context the most important portfolios that are offered to investors by financial institutions are mutual and pension funds. The success of the portfolio investments are measured through risk and return profile of the portfolio. On this purpose various performance measurement methods are developed in finance literature. The purpose of this study is to analyze the performance of mutual and pension funds. The analysis is conducted by using five different measurement methods and the results obtained are compared thereafter. Furthermore the persistence of portfolio performance throughout the years is also investigated. The application made on sixteen funds showed that the different measurement scales did not always produce the same results and fund performances were not persistent in consecutive years. Keywords: Mutual funds, Pensio funds, Performance Measurement
