Academic CV system for the universities in accordance with the regulations of EU Bologna process

This study aims to develop, design and configure two web-based databases which store the CVs of academic personnel and provides information about contents and other details of courses taught at the universities. Although Canakkale Onsekiz Mart University is chosen to implement the project, the system can be applicable to all universities in general. Academic CV System (ACVS) and European Credit Transfer System Course Catalogue System (ECTS CCS) databases contain complete user and administration/management interfaces.Databases and their essential parts, such as administration applications, support the decision making process/mechanisms by transforming the data and/or records into accurate and up-to-date information in a very short time. Taking into consideration that in today?s world, the success is mostly depended on personnel?s abilities and skills; and specially at the universities, well-educated and experienced academic personnel is the most important asset to improve the scientific quality; the necessity of up-to-date and easily manageable CV system is obvious. The database will be multi-functional and include search/management system and will be accessible by all users.Apart from this general need, under the EU Bologna Process, the universities are required to provide information about ?what, how and who? to improve the quality and transparency in education. As a result of this study, ECTS Course Catalogue System and Academic CV System will provide up-to-date, accurate and fast answers to the questions ?what, how and who? and the answers will be presented to the decision makers and other users as an information.
