The effects of night-dress fabric structures on model and mold designing

Abstract (EN)

In recent years, using the time efficiently in the area of ready-made garment production which is rapidly developing and growing,has gained a great importance.Efficiency of the main and auxiliary materials and the production just on time are such vital requirements for the companies. In garment industry;reasons such as 'not obtaining the fabric patterns smoothly or missing of the patterns,failing in planning the design in model roomand directing the patterns to be cut without checking them out lead the companies to the loss of material directly or indirectly. In this sense, the measures should be taken by companies in order to gain time and material savings.With these reasons,this research had been done which targets to determine the effects from fabric structures that used in night-dress production to designs of model and structure. This research is also considered too important on the aspects of choosing the appropriate fabric for the night-dress model,preparing the appropriate structure for fabric,providing features expected from a fine night dress and also providing appopriate fabric and structure design for human body.This survey done in experimental method which serves its goal in the best aims to uncover the effects of structural features of fabric on the model and structure designs,and the differences between the structures depending on fabric-types.The phase of work in this research is consisted of night-dress fabric types that are used in ready-made garment industry.This different type of fabric that seperated from the other usual satin types which very commonly used in night dress producing sector is indeed sampling three different sorts of satin fabric which also include weight-feature.In order to gain data,the types of fabric were determined,structural features were investigated and one pieces of model which are appopriate to these kinds of fabric were determined and produced.A form of model measument was prepared and applied with the aim of comparison between the results of measurements of products and the dimensions of basic pattern.The findings were compared with the dimensions of basic pattern in the same form.A measurement-form for the model was prepared,examined on a 38-size lifeless-mannequin and measured,the data obtained were recorded to this form and +/- deviations were determined by comparing with the dimensions of the basic pattern.As an another way of collecting data; model-observation-form was prepared to measure the features of model,appearance and features of fabric and the product was also examined on a 38-size lifeless-mannequin and was observed on the line .According to the data in research which were obtained by comparing the satin fabric types seperately;it is defined to make changes on the structure related to the structural features of fabric,no matter how much stretch-ratio there is in the mixture of satin-fabric types,it is resulted that flat-yarn stretch-ratio,transverse stretch-ratio and bias sagging-ratio were completely different from each other and differently structured fabric features for night-dress production leave certain different effects on the structure.It is also found that the structural features of fabric such as weight,thickness and slenderness of fabric types cause different sagging,shrinking and wrinkling on the model.Key Words: Fabric, Model Design, Patern Design, Satin, Night Dresses
