Abstract (EN)
The mortality rate is quite high in patients hospitalized in intensive care unit. In this study, we tried to determine the relationship by using inflammatory reagents and GKS, Apache-II, Saps-II scores which helped us guess the mortality of old patients (over 55 years old) coming to stay in internal medicine intense care.We had 73 patients totally which of 48 male (65.8%) and 25 (34.2%) female. The reagents used to estimate mortality in patients; age, Apache-II score, Saps-II score, GKS, leukocyte count in serum, haemoglobin, CRP (C reactive protein), IL-1 (interleukin-1), IL-6 (interleukin-6), IL (interleukin-10), TNF-alpha (tumour nacreous factor-alpha), PTZ (prothrombin time), aPTT (activated partial thromboplastin time), Albumin, ferritin.Mean age of the patients having exitus and having discharged was not significant. The average duration of hospital stay was found significant.Apache-II score, leukocyte count, PTZ, IL-1, IL-6, TNF-alpha, haemoglobin which were prognostic reagents weren?t statistically found any relationship with mortality. A significant relationship was found between mortality and the highness of ferritin, aPTT, GKS, SAPS-II and the lowness of albumin. No significant relationship was found between mortality and CRP, TNF-alpha, IL-1, IL-6, IL-10 levelConsequently, in the mortality estimation of the patients coming to stay in DYBU; Saps-II, GKS, ferritin, albumin, aPTT measurements were determined to be used.Key words: Intense care, old patients, APACHE-II score, SAPS-II score, GKS, cytokines, aPTT, albumin, ferritin and mortality.
