Abstract (EN)
In entertainment venues; due to crowdedness and lack of control, environmental pollution occurs. Waste materials of environmental pollution visually and olfactory discomforts people in short term while unconscious use of electronic devices and human voices affects people negatively in medium and long term. People other than the ones participating these performances are affected instantly and long term. Noise is physically defined as unsteady complex sound and physiologically defined as disturbing and unwanted sound. Noise, in addition to physiological and psychological damages affects human performance directly. The physiological effects include; face and body muscle stresses, irregular secretion of body hormones and various negative effects of body systems (circulatory, reproductive system, etc.). In case of long term exposure to noise can cause irreversible acoustic trauma. Depending on the person psychological effects are nervous disorders, delirium, depression, aggression, fear, anxiety and exhaustion. These physiological & psychological effects and communication & concentration failures affects self performance which can reduce self-confidence in long term. Theoretically three main methods are available in noise control which targets elimination or reduction of these adverse effects. These methods are controlling the noise in the source, between the source and the recipient, in the recipient. As with other types of noise, noise control of the entertainment venues must also be controlled in the source. In this study we intend to define negative responses of entertainment venue noises. To this end, noise maps have been prepared including entertainment venues located in Istanbul which are determined as affecting the environment negatively. Data obtained from these maps have been compared with the values of the Turkey "Environmental Noise Assessment and Control" regulations. Solutions to control for exceeding the acceptable limits are presented and evaluated.
