Abstract (EN)
This research aims to make literature survey in cultural and legal devolopment of the understandings of urban open gren areas and to reflect the current situation. The other aim of the research can be stated as to obtain scientific data in terms of creating livable urban pattern and to examine this process througt a case study areas. Within the context of the research the distribution of existing open green areas and the distiribution in approved development plants have been examined both in terms of quality and quantity. Moreover the population capacities have been discussed by taking the historical, cultural and natural resources of the area into considerastion. Through this research the importance of open green areas, the necessity of creating them through a planning process in different scales have been emphasized. Finally, the importance of making improvements in terms of quality is discussed.
