Abstract (EN)

Anadolu University provides education and training for nearly one and a half million students through the open education system. The examinations are conducted in all 81 provinces and additionally some largest towns of Turkey. Student-test location assignments, in these tests which are made in four sessions in a weekend, are achieved independently from the addresses of students, although considering the courses that the students which are responsible. In the study, it was aimed to improve the student-test location assignments using location-based methods in GIS and to let the students select the test buildings which are closer to them or which are easier to reach. In order to be able to use the address data of the students and the addresses of the buildings, geocoding were used to obtain spatial data. Subsequently, distance based analyses were carried out for student-test building matches. While using the National Address Database for address components in this study, application programming interfaces and web services developed by Google for map and coordinate information were used. Both geocoding and reverse geocoding methods were used in the study.
