Ali Anbarcı through Adana minstrel tradition

The tradition of minstrelsy is a field of creation based on and developing from the professions of kam, shaman and baksi and has a new tradition and performance tradition. The tradition of minstrelsy, which has an important place in Turkish folk culture is a treasure with its own rules and performance. The minstrels expressed the feelings and thoughts of the society they live in and acted as a bridge for Turkish culture to reach today. As a result of the researches and examinations, it has been determined that the tradition of minstrelsy has been going on for centuries in Adana and its environs. From this point of view, it is seen that the minstrel tradition of Adana is a subject that needs to be examined. The subject of the thesis is the life, art and works of Âşık Ali Anbarcı in the Adana minstrel tradition. The aim of this study is to examine the literary aspect of Âşık Ali Anbarcı, who grew up around the Adana minstrel tradition, to determine his place in the Adana minstrel tradition and to introduce him to the scientific world comprehensively. The works of the artist, who is one of the minstrels of Badeli, mainly include historical and social subjects such as love, nature, bravery, nation, and Yörüks. In this study, firstly, Adana and its surroundings, where the minstrel was born and raised, were tried to be introduced. Âşık Ali's 434 poems were classified according to their subjects and analyzed in detail in terms of form, content and style, and its place in the tradition was tried to be determined. In the thesis study, descriptive analysis based on theme and content analysis was used as a method. The data were obtained by using document, observation and interview technique, which is a qualitative research method. In addition, the data obtained by reaching the source people about Âşık Ali was used in the study. On the other hand, the works written on the tradition of minstrelsy and minstrel literature were examined by literature review. The sources used during the study are in the bibliography section.
