Abstract (EN)

It is of great importance for those of us living in Anatolia to instill awareness of archaeology and cultural heritage in children, who are our future. In recent years, with the development of the concept of public archaeology, various studies have been conducted with the idea that archaeology is not limited to academic work alone but also involves local communities in the process of preserving historical elements. Within the scope of this thesis, two public primary schools and one private primary school affiliated with the Ministry of National Education in Adana province were selected. Fourth-grade students were chosen as the study group. A presentation was conducted to raise awareness among fourth-grade primary school students about archaeology and cultural heritage. Before the presentation, a questionnaire was administered to assess the students' existing knowledge and perceptions of archaeology and cultural heritage. The same questionnaire was repeated after the presentation to evaluate its impact on the students. Keywords: Archaeology, Culturel Heritage, Public Archaeology, Archaeology for Children
