Turkey's foreign aids and TİKA in the African equation

If we define the phenomenon that has shaped the 400-year history of Africa as the wars of commercial and economic power, we will not have made a wrong determination. Africa, caught between the Ottoman-European conflict in the 16th century; It first suffered from Mercantilist tendencies, industrial revolution in the 17th and 18th centuries, and then Capitalist colonialism, and suffered material and moral losses. While the balance of political and economic power is being re-established in the 21st century world system, Africa is once again at the center of a power struggle with its different position in the development process, valuable energy resources and development potential. The increasing weight of Africa in development cooperation reveals this fact. While the rate of development aid spent for Africa was 24% in 2000 in the world, it increased to 29% in 2005, and today it has increased to 34%. The USA has allocated 38% of its foreign aid, and China 45% of its foreign aid for Africa. With the economic and social relations increased by the post-Fordist economic system, in a truly globalized world, commercial relations have increased continuously and rapidly, and national borders have begun to become uncertain. "Development cooperation activities" that emerged after the World Wars, developed and became widespread during the Cold War period, and lost their importance afterwards; In this era of cooperation and interaction, even if it takes the form of commercial exchange, it plays an important role and these activities are supported by official, civil and private initiatives. What is the position of Turkey in these development cooperation activities concentrated in the center of Africa? What has Turkey's development cooperation policy brought to Africa and Turkey? What should be the place of Africa in our development cooperation policy? With the African foreign aid policy, the effect of which began to be seen after 2005, and the multi-actor public diplomacy activities carried out based on this policy, Turkey increased its presence and recognition in Africa in a short time, became one of the strategic partners of the African Union, revived the political and cultural ties with a past of four centuries, realized its potential. Despite the regional crises, Turkey continues to fulfill the requirements of the foundation culture and cooperation era it inherited.
