Abstract (EN)
The earth crust has bountiful and various energy source. Geothermal energy is used as heatthat comes from the ground. For geothermal energy which is a renevable, inexhaustible andnot to cause to environmental pollution energy source has many using areas have beenresearching. Geothermal energy is used in electricity production, building heating andagriculture. It is also prefered because of positive contributions for healty life and at the lasttimes the researchs are densened in this way.Our country where is located in Alphine-Himalayan Tectonic Belt is situated amongst firstfive countries in geothermal heating and balneological applications in the World. It isamongst first seven countries aspect of its richness in the World. There are 140 geothermalareas that contain geothermal fluid over 40 oC in Turkey and it was determined about 1300thermal sources in these areas.Afyonkarahisar is a rich city from the point of view of geothermal energy potential. There aremany hot springs in city borders. Important ones are; İkbal, Ömer, Gazlıgöl, Oruçoğlu, Hüdai,Gecek, Heybeli, Soydan, Başak, Yaylakent, Grand Özer, Özdemir, Grand Sönmez andAFJET. Because of this, to say hot spring city to the Afyonkarahisar city will be more trueword. In this study, it has been pointed out geothermal energy potential of Afyonkarahisarand analyzed hot spring waters as seasonal that located in this area.Temperature data that we obtain in our study according to the other average data are foundhigher. Therefore, we can say that Afyonkarahisar thermal waters are appropriate for thermaltourism and heating. We obtain data of 1A, 2A and 3A elements which are usually lower inwinter season. Nitrate and nitrite results that is obtained from thermal waters are appropriateto the TSE-266 and WHO standarts. In addition, heavy metal levels in hot spring waters thatare analyzed are not toxic effects to the people health.Key words: Geothermal energy, Afyonkarahisar, Hot spring, Water analysis, Nitrate-Nitrite, Mineralmatter analysis, ICP
