Writing skills of 5th class students? in Hoca Ahmet Yesevi Primary School, city centre, Afyonkarahisar

In education, the thing that students explain themselves by using writing skill is usually discussed by educators. Seeing both what students write , how long they write in a specific topic and determination of relations between some variables may illuminate to this research.The research shows us how students? writing skills, the fifth class in Hoca Ahmet Yesevi Primary School, Afyonkarahisar, are affected by some factors like how they grow up. 39 students from this school are sample for this research.A composition about `Mother Love? is written by students. These compositions are examined for sentence lenght and concept rate. Thus two data belong to these writings associated with a form which includes gathering of information questions. This questionnaire which was applied to students include some questions like ; level of family education and what family does, habits of student?s reading a book, how often a student uses internet and how often a student watches TV. These questions are associated with sentence lenght and concept estimate so some data are found about their writings.Conclusion , it is realized that students are having difficulties about expressing themselves with using enough words and how they grow up is one of the effective factor in their writings. It?s found out that writing skills are influenced from students? sex and how many hours they watch TV. It is understood that some factors like having a library at home, how often a student uses internet, parents? education level, how long a student reads a book less affect the result. Some suggestions are given for improving students? number of concept which is used in their writing skill.Key Words : Writing skill, sentence lenght, concept rate, mother love
