Animals in Ahmet Hamdi Tanpınar's novels, stories and poems

Animals are creatures that have somehow managed to influence people in all their activities. In addition to being hunted and consumed as food, they sometimes provided convenience for people's work. In their need to understand the world and make sense of their existence, humans have benefited from animals in every possible way. Agricultural production, scientific developments, technological tools, visual and audio arts activities have been nourished by the relationship between animals and humans. In literature, animals are frequently encountered in the works written by writers. It is possible to see traces of animals in all oral and written cultures around the world. Ahmet Hamdi Tanpınar, one of the symbolic figures of Turkish literature, frequently included animals and animal-related metaphors in his works. In addition, he shared the images formed in his inner world with the reader through animals. After examining human-animal relations under many subheadings, the study continues with the examination of the author's relationship with animals. In order to better understand Ahmet Hamdi Tanpınar's understanding of art and his artistic identity, the frequency and usage patterns of animals in his works were examined.
