Abstract (EN)

The development of new, innovative, building materials presents great interest especially construction sector in the last decades where a variety of new generation, smart, competitive and eco friendly materials have been established in the market. The Popularity of wood plastic composite material is increasing in the market at the present day. Because of both positive features of the material imparted and its cost, it is even more preferred in recent years. In this study, different characterization of wood plastic composite material according to the pure plastic material and the effect of slag of ferromanganese which added in equal proportions of CaO, SiO2, MnO was investigated. The specimens were taken from material which was produced at the pilot plant were conducted in series of laboratory tests. As a result of tests; wood plastic composite material was superior in terms of density, water absorption and thickness swelling, flexural strength and modulus of elasticity, tensile strength, and thermogravimetric analysis in comparison with the pure plastic material. Slag of ferromanganese which was added in it has provided positive contribution to wood plastic composite material in thermogravimetric analysis. In other tests, the averages which are not statistically different from pure wood plastic composite were obtained. xiv Keywords: Wood plastic composite, slag of ferromanganese, thermogravimetric analysis
