In the literary part of this study, the subject of institutionalization in family companies is divided into three parts; first, the concept of institutionalization and then family company concept, and finally the concept of institutionalization in family companies are analyzed. In this context, the vital importance of institutionalization for family companies is specifically emphasized. In the application section, analyses carried out with data collected from 135 participants and suggestions are included. The results of analyses are shown with charts. In research questions, questions on the subjects considered as the key manifestations of institutionalization are addressed to the participants. In the light of the answers to these questions, the relationship between three manifestations of institutionalization mentioned and characteristics of the family company regarding the province, sector, legal structure, number of employees and the generation is attempted to be established.According to the findings, we came to the conclusion that the province factor considerably differs from the three manifestations of institutionalization mentioned above. Also, it draws attention that there is a considerable differentiation between the legal structure of the company, the number of employees, the sector of the company and the subject of ?the presence of a written plan and program?. There is also a great differentiation between the legal structure of the companies that participated in the research and the subject of ?domination of the system instead of the discourses of people?.Key Words: Institutionalization, Family Company, Institutionalization in Family Companies, Nepotism.
