Abstract (EN)

AISI 304 austenitic stainless steels are widely used in industry due to their mechanical properties. According to the researches and industry observations, the control of these steels caused by many manufacturing problems and the cutting parameters have largely preserved these processes. The aim of this study is to determine the optimum cutting parameters for AISI 304 austenitic stainless steels in hole drilling, which is one of the important applications of machining, and we can achieve maximum production in the potential of these steels. The experiments were carried out for AISI 304 steel material at warm temperatures of 300, 400 and 500 °C and using different cutting properties. In the experiments, 955, 716 and 515 rpm were used as cutting parameters and 0.24, 0.12 and 0.06 mm/rev values were used for feed rate. The results of the experiments were recorded that the values of the samples decreased with the applied warm processing temperature. The lowest surface roughness at 500 C temperature was obtained at 0.06 mm/rev, 955 rev/min parameters. The lowest surface roughness at 400 C temperature was obtained at 0.24 mm/rev, 515 rev/min parameters. The lowest surface roughness at 300 C temperature was obtained at 0.12 mm/rev, 515 rev/min parameters.
