Abstract (EN)

Burnouts may affect people of any age and any proffesion, and can be surfaced with many symptoms; such as emotional breakdowns, desensitisation, decreasing self-confidence, feeling of desperation, high anxiety, decreasing success rate, loss of motivation or energy loss. The concept of "burnout" can mostly be seen in people who work extra shifts or long shift hours, educators who has to communicate with people too often, medical staff and sometimes even in housewives. Starting from this point, academic burnouts and occupation motivation levels of academicians has been analysed in this research. In the extent of this research, 179 volunteered academicians of Beykent University were surveyed for data collection. They were subjected to Academic Burnout Scale and Occupational Motivation Scale, and also the Sociodemographic form for Academicians, which was created by the researcher. In light of the information gathered in this research, a meaningful statistical relevance between occupational motivation and burnout levels was discovered. It is concluded that occupational motivation has an influence on academician's burnout level.
