Acute effects of active and passive warm-up protocols on knee flexion and extension isokinetic strength

Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of different warm-up protocols on knee isokinetic strength (PTEX and PTFLX). With this purpose, a total of 33 sedentary male (age: 21.71±1.94 years) participated voluntarily in the study. The subjects participated in randomly three trials as an active warm-up (general warm-up), passive warm-up (massage) and control. Isokinetic measurements of the participants were performed with an isokinetic dynamometer (CSMI Cybex Humac Norm, USA). Isokinetic tests were performed at 4 different motion angles (60os-1 / 120os-1 / 180os-1 / 240os-1). In SPSS 20.0 package program repeated measures one way ANOVA and LSD correction tests were used for the analysis of the data. According to the results of the research, significant differences were found isokinetic knee peak torque and average power in all angular velocities in favor of active warm-up trial (p<0.05). Significant differences were not found in the control trial (p>0.05). In conclusion, it can be said that active warm-up had a statistically significant positive effect on isokinetic knee strength.
