Abstract (EN)

In this thesis study, the relationship between the number of B lymphocytes in bone marrow aspirations and the remission status of 87 patients diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) who applied to Tekirdağ Namık Kemal University Hospital between 2015 and 2021 was examined retrospectively. AML is a neoplasm characterized by cessation of differentiation at the stage of hematopoiesis and an increase in the blast cell population. The mean age at diagnosis is 67, and it is more common in males than females. B lymphocytes in the humoral immune system are thought to play a role in the elimination of cancer and leukemia cells together with T lymphocytes. In our study, demographic data, AML type, genetic analysis, blood count values, LDH, uric acid values, absolute lymphocyte, absolute CD19 values, lymphocyte, blast, CD19 ratios in flow cytometry at the time of diagnosis, and transplantation status of 87 patients diagnosed with AML were evaluated. It was determined that 50.6% of our cases were female, 49.4% were male, and 71.3% were ex and 28.7% were alive. The mean age at diagnosis was 56.93 ± 15.19 years. According to ELN cytogenetic risk classification, 25.3% of patients were in the good risk group, 43.7% in the intermediate risk group, and 26.4% in the bad risk group. There were 20.7% patients who had hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. When the effects on survival were evaluated statistically, the effect of age at diagnosis and ELN risk group was found to be significant, but no significant difference was found in the effect of CD19 on survival. Age, ELN risk group, transplant status, survival, and uric acid were found to be significant among those affecting remission status. CD19 in flow cytometry at the time of diagnosis was found to be statistically significant at the border. Our study contributes to the literature by determining the prognostic factors for AML cases and examining the effect of CD19 on remission. Key words: AML, CD19, Flow Cytometry, B Lymphocyte, Mortality, Immunophenotyping
