Prof. Dr. Aysel ŞAHANIn this research, two hundred and twentyseven (227) matured blue crab werecaptured in Akyatan lagoon in the North East of Mediterranean region. Hemolymph(blood and lymph)and haemocytes (amount and types) in mL were measured in 93female and 134 male of matured blue crab. Three types of cells were determined. These include hyaline, granular and semigranular cells. Result showed that the totalamount of haemocytes in mL was in female individuals 242.300±6.113x104,hyaline 25.722±0.916x104, semigranular 125.817±4.847x104, granular was91.078±3.047x104; in male individuals total amount of haemocytes216.434±4.778x104, hyaline 21.447±0.609x104, semigranular 112.355±3.058x104,granular haemocytes 82.632±2.080x104. The total percentage (%) of cells werefound to be %14 hyaline, %31 granular and %55 semigranular. The total carapas length of female blue crab was 60.715 mm while that male'stotal carapas length was 72.161 mm. The total haemocyte, hyaline, semigranular, granular haemocyte amount of the female was significantly (p<0.05) higher than themale?s.Key Words:C. sapidus, Blue crab, hyaline, granular, semigranular haemocytesII
