Abstract (EN)
Alişanzade Ismail Hakkı by doing meticulous studies on native or foreign figures he put their lives on paper. Thus he was the pioneer of western style biography in Turkish literature. By publishing his translations from the west on various media publications he tried to enlighten the era which he lived. His most important study was the translation of Baudelaire's world famous poetry book Les Fleurs du Mal into Ottoman Turkish with the name of Elem Çiçekleri. This was the first and full translation of Les Fleurs du Mal into Turkish literature. It was published in 1927 and had a great effect on Turkish poetry. Ismail Hakkı Bey carried out the general editorship of Mektep Magazine. His essay of analyses and research about Ali Şir Nevai and Ömer Hayyam has attracted attention. In his youth, he also wrote poems, stories, novels, inquiries, and biographies. However in course of time by giving up all these literary types he fully focused on translation studies. In this study; some of his works, essays, researches we selected from the result through the scan on the newspaper and magazines belongs to İsmail Hakkı Bey's era.– translated from old letters into Latin letters. And also Information about the life of Alisanzade Ismail Hakkı is included. We added the complete list of the author's essay on magazines and newspapers which we could reach. The author's texts which form the main part of the thesis was read adhered to the original and neither analysis nor simplification is used. The footnotes of the texts belong to the author himself. By adding the identification tag at the end of the each text which transformed into Latin letters its publication year is indicated. In the light of all these studies and inquiries, a result part is written at the end of the thesis. In the appendix section, photographs belonging to the author are included.
