Comparison of child-age traumas, attachment styles and temperament characteristics of outpatient patients due to alcohol and substance abuse disorders

The purpose of this study is to compare child-age traumas,attachment styles and temperament characteristics of outpatient patients due to for alcohol and substance abuse disorders. When we look at the universe of the research, Participants of this study were 542 addicted individuals receiving outpatient treatment in the Green Crescent Consuling Center.In the study taken into account these cases, when it chooses selection of sampling, it used non-probability sampling methods within convenience/incidental sampling methods. Because of the reason, when we selected addicted participants can be accessed easily and conveniently. The study is consisted of total 116 participants. In this study, 39 participants were attend for alcohol addicted and 77 participants were any drug addicted.103 participants were male and 13 participants were female. To collect data use these tests to participants: Michigan Alcoholism and Substance Screening Test (MAMTT), Temperament Evaluation of Memphis,Pisa,Paris and San Diego-Autoquestionnaire Scale Turkish Version (TEMPS-A) , Childhood Trauma Scale (CCTO), Relationship Scales Survey (IOA) and The personal data form prepared by the researcher for used this study. In addition, Research statistical analysis in "SPSS 21.0" program has been used and interpreted. To comparison between relationships and interpretations for the data Mann Whitney-u test, Kruskal Wallis - H test, Independent Samples T-test, Pearson product-moment correlation coefficient and Spearman test were used. Multiple regression analysis was performed to measure the sub-type scores of the results. The level of Significance at p <0.05 was accepted. As a result, the study found that childhood trauma, temperament characteristics and attachment styles were a significant relationship between addiction levels in individuals receiving outpatient treatment.
