Abstract (EN)

Ecolinguistics is an interdisciplinary branch of science that is quite young. Its beginnings go back to the 60s. Einar Haugen made the start with his theory "Ecology of language". The development of ecological linguistics progressed thanks to Alwin Fill, who introduced the development of ecolinguistics. With his work Einführung in die Ökolinguistik, he popularized the new scientific field. With the pragmatic turn, the view of ecologists changed. They focused on the influence of human activity on the environment and ecosystems. As the climate crisis or climate change is now a global problem, ecolinguistics is concerned with environmental destruction issues. The aim is to save the future of humanity, nature, plants and animals. The interaction between language, humans and the environment is the starting point. The general question is, "Can language contribute to the development of environmental awareness?". In this work, ecolinguistics is used in comparative research. The history of its development, the areas of research and the scientists who have dealt with ecolinguistics are described. The cooperation of ecolinguistics with different branches of science is also discussed. The whole world is dealing with the problem of the "climate crisis". Different measures are also being taken in Turkey and Germany. These measures are discussed in the practical part. Six Turkish and six German children's and youth books that contain environmental themes were researched structurally with regard to ecolinguistic tendencies, taking into account identity formation and the language acquisition process.
