Abstract (EN)

From 2018 to 2020, investigations were conducted in Adana province of Turkey to determine the occurrence and characterization of Citrus yellow vein clearing virus (CYVCV). The virus was found to have a moderately low occurrence in the province (14.23%). The molecular characterization based on the coat protein region of the virus isolates occurring on various citrus cultivars in Adana province show a close similarity with each others. Next-generation sequencing revealed the complete the genome of CYVCV occurring on sour orange. The virus' isolate titled Y2 consists of 7528 nucleotides without poly (A) tail and has the same genome organization as isolate Y1 extracted from Eureka lemon in the same region. In our results of transmission studies, grapevine (Vitis vinifera) was identified as the host of the CYVCV. Cotton aphids (Aphis gossypii Glover, Hemiptera: Aphididae) was identified as vector of CYVCV, while woolly whitefly (Aleurothrixus floccosus Maskell, Hemiptera: Aleyrodidae) failed to acquire the virus.
