Abstract (EN)

In this research 83 melon genotypes of which 50 of them are Altınbaş type (Cucumis melo var. inodorus) are morphologically and molecularly characterizated in order to investigate the relationship among Altinbaş genotypes and others. According to the results of morphological characterization it was determined that there is diversity among the genotypes for some characters, all Altınbaş genotypes were the same for the 8 UPOV characters and according to the analysis no relation was found between the groups and their collection site. Also wild melons as Kav 63, Kav 64 and Kav 66 were differentiated from other genotypes in all analysis. It was determined that among the 76 ISSR primers used in the study 13 were scorable and among the 110 bands obtained 79 were polymorphic and 31 were monomorphic. In Altınbaş genotypes polymorphic band number was 47 and monomorphic band number was 63. Diversity and avarage similarity 0.88 (min.:0.35, max.:1.00) were also obtained among the genotypes in molecular characterization. It is important to create core collections, pure line obtention and heterosis studies in Altınbaş melon genotypes.
