Abstract (EN)
In this research, the conventional welding methods of aluminum and aluminum alloys had been examined with the same tensile strength condition. First, the general characteristics of aluminum alloys had been discussed as short and their weldabilities had been researched. After that, some possible causes of weld defects and suggested measures had been discussed in the conventional welding methods of aluminum alloys. Shielded metal arc welding (TIG and MIG), metal arc welding (manual metal arc) and oxyacetylene welding methods were thought as the conventional welding methods of aluminum alloys. Specially, shielded metal arc welding methods which give better characteristics in aluminum welding had been discussed more wide content than others. The base metal thickness was accepted stationary as 4 millimeters. 5052 aluminum alloy had been chosen as the base metal. Aluminum plates were welded with the 9 types desired joint designs. Tensile strengths were taken as criterion in the experiments. Bend strengths were taken as criterion in some designs. Under these conditions, experimental researches were made and conventional welding methods were compared.
