Deep drawing process optimization of aluminium sheet metals

Abstract (EN)

One of the ways to measure formability is to find the deep drawability properties of parts. Deep drawing has an important place in sheet metal forming methods. In this study, the effect of deep drawing process parameters such as die radius, punch radius and compression force on the deep drawing process of AA 6061 sheet was investigated. Finite element method and Taguchi analysis were used together to determine the effect of process parameters. Simulations were performed using Autoform software, according to the orthogonal array. Based on the measured thickness values of the deep drawn cups and the analysis of the variance test (Anova), the parameter with the greatest influence on the formability of the aluminum material was determined. The parameter that has the most effect on the process is the pressure force with 34.43%. It was observed that the punch force and die radius had an effect of 31.21% and 27.67%, respectively.
