Abstract (EN)
Norman Rockwell is the foremost illustrator of U.S. in 20th Century whose renowned works gave direction to American culture, even tough echoes of Rockwell?s pieces endured until today. For understanding American society extensively, investigation and exploration of his life and art become utmost necessities. Hence very elemental concepts of culture such as society and belonging which are molded by mass propaganda mechanism with the utter importance of image making process must be analyzed thoroughly. During this deep probing journey also life story of Norman Rockwell becomes meaningful. Rockwell?s unique style, system and leading works should be explored. At the end U.S. social structure design and censorship are explained under the shadow of Rockwell legacy.
