Abstract (EN)
Amiksian, one of the antibiotics of Aminoglikozid group,is being used in treatment of gram-negative aerobik bakterias. On of the well known side effect of this antibiotic is autoxidation and generally, results is a permant hearing loss. Morphologically, aminoglicosides primarily causes damage in sensory cells in basal parts of coclea. In literature, it has been proven that different antioxidant agent can prevent this kind of damage. In this syudy, possible protective effect of antioxidant bataglukan on amikasin autoxidation has been searched through autoaquistic emission (DPOAE) measurments and expretiments. After our study was approved by Inönü University, ethic board for Experimantal animals, (Research ethic Board Protocol No: 2009/20), it was realized in İnönü Üniversity Medicine Faculty Production and Research Lab. for Experimantal animals.Rats aged 3 months and weighed 200-280 grams were kept in 12-hour illimunated and 12-hour dark and 21?C ambience where they could ad-libitum feed. The rats whose hearings were found normal in autoaquistic emission measurments (DPOAE) were included into the study. They were divided into four group. One of them was control group and this group was not given any medicine. The other groups were classified as amikasin group, amikasin+betaglukan group and beta glukan group. Upon basal measurments, all groups were subjected to hearing measurments by DP on the first and fifth and tenth and fifteenth days. It was tested if coclear toxicit were prevented through antioxidants. In the statistical eveluations, SPSS for Windows Version 13 program was used. Two tests were used: Mann-Whitney U test was used for comparing groups and Wilcoxon test was used for variations among the groups. Statistical values P<0,05 were found meaningful. Meaningful values could not be obtained from Control group. Statistically meaningful variations were determined in certain frequency in the other groups. As a result, we belive that beta glukan has protective effect on coclear damage resulted from amikasin and that it could be an alternative for treatment
