Abstract (EN)
NH3BH3 is advantageous with a storage capacity of w. 19.6% over other hydrogen storage materials which is a stable at room temperature with a low molecular weight and non-toxic in the class of boron-nitrogen compounds. It is emphasized that the thermolysis properties should be improved in order to be able to be used as a hydrogen storage medium especially in portable energy production systems. In this study, composites are prepared with boric acid and boron oxide additives which are shown Lewis acid characteristic, hydrogen production temperatures and additive rates are determined by calorimetric methods, activation energy is calculated by using Kissinger, Ozawa-Flynn-Wall, ASTM I and II methods, thermolysis and hydrothermolysis reactions are carried out. When the amount of H2 gas and the average rate of the thermolysis and hydrothermolysis reactions carried out at 115°C of the prepared composites with 50% additive content are evaluated, it is determined that boric acid is the most suitable additive. The most effective thermolysis reaction of boric acid which is Lewis acid characteristic to be provided with hydrothermolysis reaction in the case of 0.038 g composite / 0.05 ml of water which is carried out with higher reaction rate (1709 ml H2/g NH3BH3.min) and more H2 gas (2.20 mol).
