The saints in Anatolia and their place in the guide narration

Saints and saintess have an important place in Christianity as well as in every religion. The saints and saintess who had an important place in the history of Christianity and gave direction to this religion and carried out activities for the religion of Christianity were researched, 279 saints and saintess who were in Anatolia for the sake of their religion or somehow passed through Anatolia were determined within the scope of this thesis. It is the aim of this thesis to reveal which of the people who have attained the title of saints in Christianity, how and how often are mentioned in the guide narratives and to create a collective source about the saints and saintess. In the research, the interview technique, which is one of the qualitative research methods, was applied to professional tourist guides. While determining the tourist guides, snowball sampling was preferred. The interview form applied to the guides consists of 2 parts. In the first part, demographic questions were asked to the participants. In the second part, questions were asked such as the lives of the saints and saintess, their legends, the miracles they showed, their importance for the history of Christianity, and which ones they used most in the narrations. In line with the information obtained, an in-depth interview technique was applied to the professional tourist guides interviewed about how often they used saints and saints. The sample of the study consists of 28 people, all of whom are professional tourist guides. 28 questions were included in the interview form. The results of the research were analyzed by descriptive analysis and content analysis methods. According to the data obtained from the interviews, most of the saints and saintess who lived in Anatolia were Jesus, St. Luke, George, 4 Evangelists, Panteleimon, Constantine, Helena, Barbara, Sergios, Bachos, Cappadocian Fathers, Katherina, Mor Efrem and Mor Yakup, Gregor Illuminator, Thecla, Euphemia, Lazarus, Mary Magdalene, Mamas, Simeon Stilit, 40 Marytr of Sivas, Onouphrios, Theodore, Mamas, George (from Amasia) were concluded.
