Abstract (EN)
The thesis report examined at the matriarchy center includes examinations and research on ceramic art based on the concepts of woman and mother. In Anatolia, the matriarchal lifestyle and the Mother Goddess cult include femininity, especially motherhood. Mother goddess figurines are known as the carrier symbol of feminine basic qualities. Using the qualitative research method, the first chapter focused on examining the social system in ancient times and explaining the ritual symbols associated with their similarities. The second part includes exemplary works of academic-contemporary female artists in Turkey, examining male power relations and norms, and the works of international artists that include the theme of women and the treatment of feminine characteristics in contemporary works of art. In the entire thesis report, there are various works of 8 artists from past to present in the context of the thesis topic. In the third section, personal studies are included.
