Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is to investigate the effects of Animation-supported 5E model application on students' academic achievements and motivations. In this research, the pre-test post-test experimental pattern with control group was used. This research was conducted with 52 prospective teachers attending to the 2nd grade of Science teaching program in 2014-2015 spring semester of Education Faculty at Amasya University. It was completed in four hours a week in four weeks. The computer-aided teaching materials based on 5E model composed of animations which were developed in computer classes on hardware issue were applied to the experimental group. Narrative, question-answer and demonstration methods of traditional training were applied to control group. Success and developed by Keller (1987) motivation survey ("Instructional Materials Motivation Survey") were applied to the both groups before and after the processes. The reliability of the questionnaire was found as 0.83 for (Cronbach's Alpha) internal consistency coefficient total polls and 0.79 and 0.69 for sub-factors, respectively. It was seen that the success test consisting of 25 questions was 0.22 for distinguishing power items and more and between 0.13- 0.74 for item difficulty power . The average difficulty of the test was found as, 0.45 and internal consistency coefficient was calculated as (KR-20) 0.77. According to the research result when both experiment group pre-test post-test achievement points and control group pre-test post-test achievement points are examined there is no significant differences between the scores of the group successes. In addition to this inference, the motivations of experimental group and control group students increase dramatically in favor of the experimental group. It shows that materials used in lessons provided an increase in students' motivation, too. Moreover, the views of academic member were evaluated. Research's results, both in terms of academic achievement and motivation shows similarities with other research. Within the frame of the research results, more precise and detailed animations can be prepared and supported with other materials and can be applied to much bordered sample groups.
