Abstract (EN)
This study was conducted to investigate the relationship between the relational needs and marital satisfaction of patients diagnosed with anxiety disorders. The sample of the study consisted of 142 patients diagnosed with anxiety disorders who applied to the psychiatry outpatient clinics of SANKO University Hospital in Şehitkamil district of Gaziantep province and Cumhuriyet University Health Services Application and Research Hospital and Numune Hospital in the central district of Sivas province. Data was collected using the "Sociodemographic Data Form," "Beck Anxiety Scale" (BAS), "Relational Needs Satisfaction Scale" (RNSS), and "Marital Satisfaction Scale" (MSS). Data was collected through face-to-face interviews. Student t-test was used for analysis, and Oneway ANOVA test was used for analyses involving more than two groups. Post Hoc tests, specifically Bonferroni test, were employed to determine the source of differences between groups with more than two levels for variables. Pearson correlation test was used to determine the relationship between scales. Multiple linear regression analysis was used to examine the predictive effect in the research. Participants ranged in age from 22 to 65, with an average age of 40,7±10,7 years. Of the participants, 57 (40,1%) were male and 85 (%59,9) were female. The average duration of marriage was 24,6±4.9 years, and the average age difference between spouses was found to be 3,87±2,9 years. Among the participants included in the study, 10 (%7,04) had mild anxiety, 21 (%14,79) had moderate anxiety, and 111 (%78,17) had severe anxiety. The mean total scores obtained by the patients on the scales were as follows: BAS total score for males was 32,7±8,8, for females was 33,1±12,2; RNSS total score for males was 60,3±13,5 for females was 62,7±13,6; MSS total score for males was 43,1±11,1, for females was 42.2±10,1 A positive (linear) relationship was found between the MSS total scale score and the support and protection sub-scale score and the RNSS total scale score. A negative (inverse) relationship was determined between the BAS total scale score and the sexuality dimension and the MSS total scale scores.
