Abstract (EN)

Parental acceptance-rejection theory (PARTheory) is a theory of socialization that aims to explain ant to predict major causes, consequences, and effects of parental acceptance and rejection. Parental acceptance-rejection theory asserts that parental rejection has negative effects on the psychological adjustment and on behavioral problems of children in all the world. In PARTheory, parental acceptance-rejection correspond to a bipolar dimension of parental warmth: Parental acceptance and parental acceptance. Parental acceptance refers to the love, affection, care, support, or nurturance that parents can feel and express toward their children. Parental rejection refers to the absence or withdrawal of warmth, love, or affection by parents toward their children.Warm and accepting parents tend to show physical and verbal love and affection toward their children. This leads to feelings of acceptance or the perception of children being loved and accepted. Rejecting parents, on the other hand, tend to dislike, disapprove of, or resent toward their children. This leads to feelings of rejection or the perception of the children being unloved and unwanted. Therefore, parental rejection has been accepted as a major predictor of many forms of behavior problems of childeren such as attention problems, aggressive behaviour, anxiety/depression problems, conduct disorders, social problems, rule-breaking behaviors and internalizing and externalizing problems. The sample of the study that is based on parental acceptance and rejecton propounded by Rohner consist of a total 120 persons with 60 children at 10-11 age group who are alive both parents and their mothers (60). The data with regard to parental acceptance-rejection and childeren?s behavor problems in the study were collected and evaluated by two questionnaires consisting of Parental Acceptance-Rejection Questionnaire Child Form (PARQ Child Form) and Child Behaviour Checklist 6-18 (CBCL/6-18), respectively. In the present study parametric tests are used in analysing the data. In this regard, various ANOVAs were conducted to examine the influence of demographic variables (mother's age, mother's education level, child's gender, mother's employement satus) on the measures of the study. Afterwards, correlation analysisis were conducted to examine corelation between PARQ scale and CBCL/6-18 scale along with all the sub-dimensions of these. Furthermore, two steps of hierarchical regression analyses were conducted to examine the effects of parental acceptance and rejection (PART Scale) on children?s behavioral problems (CBCL 6/18). At the first step demografic variables is regressed on CBCL/6-18. At the second step PARQ Scale is regressed on CBCL/6-18. At the end of the study, it is seen that the level of maternal acceptance-rejection has a significant impact on the child's behavior problems.
