Abstract (EN)

In this study, it was aimed to determine the relationship between mothers' perfectionism and preschool children's self-regulation skills and play behaviors. 353 mothers with children between the ages of 4-6 who are studying in pre-school institutions in Istanbul province Kadıköy, Maltepe, Üsküdar and Ümraniye districts participated in the study. Personal Information Form, Multidimensional Parental Perfectionism Scale, Self- Regulation Skills Scale for 4-6 Years Old Children and Penn Interactive Peer Play Scale were administered to the participants online. Data were analyzed using the IBM SPSS Statistics 27 program. Pearson Product Moments Correlation Coefficient was used to determine the relationships between the variables. As a result of the research, it was determined that there was a significant relationship between mothers' perfectionism and children's self-regulation and play behaviors. It has been determined that as mothers' perfectionism increases, children's self-regulation skills and play interactions decrease; however, children's disengagement and disruption from play has increased.
