Funerary markers in Ancient Greek

In this study, grave marking methods used in Ancient Greece during Protogeometric, Geometric, Archaic, Classical and Hellenistic periods were investigated. The grave types and grave marking methods used were determined and typological distinctions were made and explained in chronological order. As a result of the researches, the subject of burial customs and the studies on the subject of sub-titles in this subject by making use of the work as a whole Ancient Greek grave marking methods were brought together in the study was compiled. During the research, the beginning and development processes of grave marking methods were evaluated.Within the scope of these processes approximately starting at 1100 B.C. and during the time period until 30 B.C., the Greek mainland, the islands and the Greek cities located on the coasts of Western Anatolia have been exemplified in the light of the information obtained from archaeological excavation.
