Abstract (EN)

Alkaloids, which have important biological activities, include nitrogen atoms in their heterocyclic structure. Many of alkaloids are isolated and characterized from plants after their biological activities illuminated. Their isolation yield is lower than synthesis of them so chemists interested in laboratory studies. Ellipticine and Olivacine alkaloids, which have antitumor activity, are important alkaloids in pyrido[4,3-b]carbazole structure. Ellipticine and derivatives are very effective against cancer diseases. Their toxic effects are less than the other alkaloids, so the chemists interested in with them. Ellipticine and derivatives were synthesized after many studies. Also some derivatives of these compounds have antineoplastic properties. In this study, a new synthetic route for the synthesis of hexahydro-1H-pyrido[4,3-b]carbazol-5(6H)-one skeleton was described. Construction of the tetracyclic structure was achieved by nucleopilic substitution reaction in the last step. Also many new tetrahydrocarbazole derivatives were synthesized. Synthesized compounds were purified by using chromatographic methods and their structures were identified by using FT-IR, proton NMR, carbon 13 NMR, MS spectroscopy.
