Abstract (EN)
Self-efficacy is the degree of confidence in one's ability to achieve a goal or complete a task and to predict future performance of a task. In sport, coaches' perception of self- efficacy is extremely important because expectation of success can be a more effective predictor of behavior than previous success alone. Sport as a social phenomenon is a major social experience for children, adults, the elderly, women, the rich and the poor. The sociology of sport focuses its cognitive efforts on the conceptualization of social phenomena. Therefore, sport is seen as a highly functional tool for socialization. This study was conducted to examine the relationships between coaches' self-efficacy perceptions and their levels of sport and socialization. Within the scope of the research, data were collected from 408 coaches by applying a questionnaire, the collected data were examined in terms of distribution characteristics, and in this context, parametric tests were used to analyze the relationships between the self-efficacy perceptions of the participant coaches and their levels of sport and socialization. The relationships between the self- efficacy perceptions of the participant coaches and their sport and socialization levels were examined. As a result of the research conducted by using Pearson correlation analysis method, it was determined that there were statistically significant, quite strong relationships between coaches' self-efficacy perceptions and their sport and socialization levels. In addition, the differentiation of the coaches in terms of age, gender, marital status, education level, occupation, coaching experience and coaching certificate level in the context of the variables in question were also examined. In our research, the Socialization in Sport Scale developed by (Şahan, 2007) and the Coach Self-Efficacy Scale developed by (Koçak, 2020) were used as measurement tools. The data obtained in the study were analyzed with SPSS 26.0 program. As a result of the examinations carried out by using T-Test and ANOVA methods, it was found that coach self-efficacy and sport and socialization variables were sensitive to the demographic characteristics of the participating coaches. In terms of the results of the study, it is thought to be a study that contributes to the literature and constitutes a beginning for future studies.
