Abstract (EN)
In this study, it is aimed to determine the groundwater quality of Gaziantep city centre with GIS and remote sensing methods. Samples were taken from 9 wells in provincial borders of Gaziantep. Laboratories analyze report results of samples and location of samples data entered the Arc GIS program by satellite maps. By this way groundwater quality at anywhere in Gaziantep city centre were predicted. Arc GIS Spatial Analyst interpolation module was used in order to obtain an overview to the existing groundwater quality and, to generate the spatial distribution maps of groundwater quality parameters such as heavy metals, dynamic water density, ph, electrical conductivity, cyanide, chloride, bromide, floride, free chlorine, hardness, nitrate, nitrite. The acquired spatial distribution maps presents that; groundwater quality of southwest of Gaziantep is at optimum levels and, groundwater quality decreases from the south to the north of city. The study showed that only the 5.03% (21.51 km2) of evaluated study area has the drinkable quality groundwater.
