Abstract (EN)
Electric energy demand is increasing day by day in parallel to the industrial and economic development in our country. For this reason, the issue that should be examined particularly is how to reduce the energy costs for the production. On the other hand, regular and efficient use of energy and recovery of this energy are also important issues. In this work, studies to minimize the energy amount required to manufacture 1 ton of iron in arc furnaces are specified with the purpose to improve competitive power and sustainability. Foremost among the factors influencing specific energy consumption, in other words, energy amount used per 1 ton steel, which is one of the performance indicators of energy consumption, is the raw material quality. In general, implementation of energy method in the industry requires energy accounting and measurement of energy consumptions continuously.
