Determination of nutrients and physical spesifications of barley and wheat varieties by feed microscopy and laboratory analysis

This thesis study was carried out in order to be able to reveal the nutrient and physical properties of wheat and barley varieties which can be used as feedstuffs through feed microscopy and laboratory analyzes. For the study, 6 varieties of wheat (Selimiye, Pehlivan, Golia, Kızıltan91, Zenit, NKÜziraat) and 6 barley varieties (Bolayır, Barberousse, Lord, Martı, Sladoran, Harman) were used. Physical measurements were made of grains in the study were taken photos with stereo and electron microscopy. Color measurements were made on grain and ground samples.In addition, the nutrient content of all samples was also determined. Analysis of wheat and barley varieties suggests that there are significant nutrient differences between varieties and that in some varieties this may be related to physical and microscopic observations. As a result, nutrient contents is determined by laboratory methods, which are traditional methods, as well as the use of morphometric and microscopic measurements to determine the quality of the grains used as feed, as a method of helping to determine the quality of feed.
