The flora of the area located between Aşağiçakmak village and Keban dam lake (Elaziğ)

This research was carried out to determine the flora of district between Aşağıçakmak village and Elazığ-Keban dam lake (Elazığ). The research area is located B7 square and also in Irano-Turanian phytogeographic region. 3340 plant specimens were collected from the research area, between 2009-2011 years. After identification of the plant samples which were collected in research area, 87 families, 379 genera belonged to these families and totally 820 taxa were determined as species, subspecies and variety levels. From these, 3 taxa belongs to Pteridophyta, 817 taxa belongs to Spermatophyta division. Coniferophyta and Magnoliophyta subdivisions in Spermatophyta division, include 7 and 810 taxa, respectively. In Magnoliophyta subdivision, 711 taxa were determined in Magnoliopsida and 99 taxa were determined in Liliopsida class. In the research area 95 endemic taxa were determined and endemism ratio is 11.6%. 55 taxa were determined as new record for square B7. The distibution of phytogeographic elements are: Irano-Turanian 321 (39.2%), Mediterranean 45 (5.5%) and Euro-Siberian 35 (4.2%).The largest families in the studied area were found as following: Asteraceae (101), Fabaceae (88), Lamiaceae (72), Brassicaceae (58), Poaceae (51), Caryophyllaceae (39), Boraginaceae (36), Apiaceae (34), Scrophulariaceae (29), Liliaceae (27). The largest ten genera in the region flora were: Astragalus, Salvia, Vicia, Centaurea, Silene, Veronica, Alyssum, Euphorbia, Trifolium and Trigonella.Keywords: Flora, Turkey, Elazığ, endemic, Keban Dam Lake.
