Abstract (EN)
Elevators have become an indispensable means of transportation in everyday life from home to workplace, from hospital to navigation, and to many inland people and freight transport. Problems such as increased number of high-rise buildings, building usage intensities and elevator traffic intensity have led engineers to work on these issues. The use of elevators in safety of life and property under navigational comfort conditions depends on proper design, manufacturing and maintenance processes. According to the researches carried out, the parameters affecting the safe use of elevators are around 80-100. One of the most important parameters in this study is the parameters affecting the life of steel ropes. The ability to determine how quickly ropes can safely perform their task depends on knowing these parameters and their impact levels. In wire ropes subjected to bending fatigue during use, the effects of design, fabrication and operation parameters which have an effect on the life of the rope have been theoretically investigated in this study. Steel ropes are one of the most important elements not only in elevators but also in other lifting and conveying machines. At the point where these machines can be used safely and durably, the importance of using the appropriate ropes, periodic maintenance and timely control of the factors affecting the lifetime of the rope has been emphasized and technical developments in the new generation elevators used and developed have been investigated. In this studey it is aimed to provide a document for designers to carry rope using, what criteria manufacturers should observe during manufacturing, and guidance for long lifetime of rope for users and maintenance personnel.
