Abstract (EN)
About 80% of the motors used in the industry today are asynchronous motors. The reasons why this engine is preferred are that its efficient, its cost is low and it is easily available in the industry. In this project, a cooling axial fan design will be made for a 4-pole, 3-phase, squirrel-cage asynchronous motor with a power of 2.2 kW. The design model will be analyzed by finite element method (FEM) and design verification will be provided. After the CFD and thermal analysis is completed, the designed axial fan will be printed on the 3d printer. Motor thermal tests will be carried out with the test setup prepared in the laboratory. The tests will be completed in three stages and under the same conditions. First, the asynchronous motor will be operated without a fan, the temperature increase will be monitored with a thermal imager. In the second stage, the asynchronous motor will be tested with a radial fan, and the temperature increase will be followed by the same periods. At the final stage, it will be tested under the same conditions as the designed axial fan and with regular periods. All data will be checked with a thermal camera. It will be verified according to analysis and test results thaht the proposed axial fan provides better cooling. Under the operating conditions at the rated load of the motor, the axial fan provided an average of 2.8°C more cooling than the original fan. In this case, it was observed that the axial fan increased the cooling performance by approximately 4.4%.
