Abstract (EN)
Carbon footprint is the measurement of greenhouse gases, in terms of carbon dioxide, released into the atmosphere as a result of the daily activities of an individual or society. If countries, institutions or individuals are aware of how much damage they cause to nature, it will be beneficial to produce more sensitive and sustainable solutions towards nature. For this, the carbon footprint must be calculated. Within the scope of this study, the carbon footprint resulting from the construction phase of a 1 kilometer asphalt paved road was calculated. The data used during the calculations are the data obtained as a result of observation for 18 months. The data obtained were calculated with the Tier 1 method recommended by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. As a result of the calculations, 210 tons of CO2 emissions were determined during the construction of a 1 km asphalt pavement road. This figure is approximately 32 times more than the amount of CO2 released into nature by a hu-man being as a result of his vital activities in a year.
